Linesville was founded in 1825 as a village and is now home to approximately 1200 permanent residents who call the North end of the beautiful Pymatuning Lake and State Park home. This area provides plentiful outdoor recreational opportunities for residents and visitors a like form boating and fishing to nature hikes and wildlife spotting. There are many seasonal and full year cabins nestled around the lake drawing residents from all area of Pennsylvania , Ohio and beyond.
The Linesville Spillway is a very popular destination for its viewing of the thousands of huge carp waiting for handouts of old bread. The location is famous for its saying, “The Place Where Ducks Walk on the Fish”.
Of the approximately 1200 residents, children under 18 represent 30% of the population and attend the Conneaut School District.
